Hey! I'm Mabel and the founder of Cosmic Chicks.
I've been doing triathlon since I was 7 years old and have raced at National and Elite Level over the course of my
the last 16 years in the industry. In 2025, I graduated from university, moving into 70.3's after an impulsive decision to do one with uni friends. Turns out it's not for the lighthearted! I'm now hooked, low key obsessed...
I'd been part of Athletics whilst at university and acted as Chair in my final year, noticing how few girls attended, trained and raced. Here I made some of my best friends, grew a small community of likeminded athletes and it was a turning point in showing the barriers to opportunity for women pursuing endurance sports.
Cosmic Chicks began with an idea on a training camp in Mallorca, April 2026.
It was great fun but mixed ability and experience, highlighting the differing and daily priorities faced by individual athletes.
After years of competing in triathlon and endurance sport, I realised there was something missing.
The sport had given me confidence, resilience and lifelong friendships, but it still felt intimidating, exclusive, financially inaccessible and overwhelmingly focused on performance rather than participation.
Watching the ladies I trained with race the Mallorca 312 in April was awe inspiring. I have no words to explain the feat of even getting to the start line, let alone the tenacity to endure the distance. And unsurprisingly on the start line like all races I'd ever done, even less women than I'd expected. That's what really stood out, the lack of women. Not the electricity of the event or atmosphere, just the obvious absence of female athletes.
I wanted to create something different. A community. A place where constant change was positive, grit rewarded and championed. A place where authenticity was valued as equally as performance, a space where women grew together, are understood physiologically and emotionally. A community that actively creates equal opportunity in a male dominated sports.
I truly believe that Cosmic Chicks shows that ambition is driven by authenticity and community.

OUR MISSION
Cosmic Chicks is built on the belief that sport and in particular triathlon should be accessible and given by authenticity..
At present, triathlon is limited by a pay barrier and expectations built on unrealistic industry standards.
In short, triathlon shouldn't be expensive because it doesn't need to be! 🫶
